Political conversation in this country is dead

It’s often said that one shouldn’t talk about religion or politics in polite company, since both subjects are touchy and can lead to arguments.

The truth of this matter is that religion is a great undefined mess; you believe in one form of worship (or in non worship) your opponent believes in another, and you argue till your blue in the face. Fact is you don’t know any better then anyone else what happens to us when we die, we might just cease to exist, or maybe there’s something more. That something more might be what one religion says or it might be another. It’s just one of those great mysteries of our existence and what our life means.

Politics on the other hand is only not allowed in polite company because two people who disagree will often times strong disagree on the issues at hand. The reality is however that one side is right and the other side is wrong, it’s just that the two people having this argument refuse to have an agreement upon reality.

Now there are ‘moral’ issues like abortion, stem cell research, the death penalty and gay marriage where we can argue night and day and we’ll never reach an agreement because you’re a fucking moron and I’m deeply right on all these issues and you can’t accept it. (Note: You will hold this view of me also.)

But there is stuff we can look at and see objectively, like say, the war in Iraq, that’s fucking sucked, gotten thousands of Americans killed (And tens if not hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s killed) wasted billions of dollars, and done nothing to make us safer. Yet people will refuse to accept this and argue ‘Fighting them over there so we don’t have to fight them here’ and other such bullshit. The whole reason we went to war was WMD’s, which Iraq didn’t have. That’s the facts.

In spite of this, people will refuse to accept reality. They’ll argue Iraq DID have WMD’s and merely shipped them to Iran or Syria right before the invasion, they’ll argue that Saddam WAS in on 9/11, they’ll argue that we are safer for having invaded Iraq. The right wing has created its own set of facts that are accepted as real, except for the minor detail that they are not.

One of the demented ideas that have crawled out of the fever swamp of the right is the belief that Barack Obama is not an American Citizen and thus isn’t qualified to serve as President.

Now you could claim Obama’s gay, or a Muslim, or even a gay Muslim, and all of this would be well and good, since such moronic claims are wrong, but they are also impossible to disprove, there is nothing Obama could do that would objectively make it such that he was absolutely not gay or not a Muslim.

Yet the right wing clings to this moronic idea that Obama’s not a citizen and he shouldn’t be allowed to hold office. You would think the fact that nobody managed to trip him up over this fact on his way to the White House might give people pause to reflect upon this madness, you would be completely and totally wrong.

During one of my moronic ventures into Wingnuttia I happened up a clip on Youtube titled “Different Presidents, Different Corps.” This was your typical “wingnut projects love of Bush onto the Marines and hatred of Obama onto the Marines” the first video is Bush being mobbed by cheering, hollering, thrilled marines, the second clip is Marines standing in icy silence as Obama walks towards a podium to speak.

Ignoring that the Marines in the Obama video were called to attention and thusly couldn’t cheer/yell/scream, and ignoring the videos of Obama on the campaign trail where the troops clearly embraced him, none of this matters, what does matter is one of the early comments left on this video.

At least McCain is a natural born US citizen under the law. NObama isn’t.
The congressknows that. That’s why they wasted the electoral college’s time examining McCain’s eligibilty to hold office before holding the vote but were too scared to look up NObama’s eligibility.

Obama’s birth certificate is a fake, and not a good one at that.

It is not incumbent for us to prove 0bama’s birth certificate is a fake, it is 0bama’s onus to prove that his birth certificate is real, which involves signing a FOIA release. Strangely enough, Obama refuses to sign a FOIA waver to allow the American public access to Hawaiian records, and has spent millions in preventing access to said records

Go figure

Now just imagine the dementia these people live in. Obama declares his campaign for President; he’s polling well, so he has a legitimate chance to become President. It would be at this point that the FBI, CIA, and Secret Service, who’ve already done a bunch of vetting of Obama when he became a US Senator, to vet him again to really make sure he’s who he says he is.

Beyond him, the Democratic Party has a deeply vested interest in not running someone for an office they can not legally hold, so they have to begin a vetting process of their own. Can you imagine what would have happened if Obama had won the nomination and was then forced to withdraw from the race because he was not legally allowed to be President? The Democratic Party would be crippled, if not destroyed.

Now past the organizations and political groups who would have their own interests harmed by Obama being unmasked as a fraud, there are of course his political rivals who would do anything to get him out of the way? Didn’t the right wing spend all of 2007 and 2008 telling us that Hillary Clinton (Who killed Vince Foster by the way.) would do anything to win the White House? That she was a soulless, cruel evil bitch who would crush any opponent in her ruthless conquest of the Oval Office? Are we to believe that she just missed out on what “BudMathis” noticed, that Obama’s birth certificate was ‘a fake, and not a good one at that’ (Does Bud spend his days studying Hawaiian birth certificates?)

Yet Hillary, with all the millions of her political machine, with her staff of soulless minions living only to serve the Dark Lady in her horrible quest for power, they couldn’t come up with what Bud knew, that Obama had some 18 year old volunteer using an out of date copy of Photoshop to forge his birth certificate.

Hillary is defeated, and now it’s on to the general election, where apparently TNT and Bud’s constant, frantic phone calls to McCain headquarters go unanswered. On the internet where Drudge lives to report bullshit as fact, not even a nibble, it’s not leading off FOX news every night. We have John McCain and Sarah Palin declaring that Obama “Pals around with terrorists” and staffers claiming that the parts of Virginia that are voting for McCain are “Real Virginia”. Obama’s middle name of Hussein is brought up repeatedly, trying to taint him as being somehow like Saddam Hussein. They had tens of millions of dollars, the gutter fighting mentality of Karl Rove, and endless GOP front groups, yet again, none of these people managed to figure out Obama’s not really an American citizen.

You would think that these events and the results of this election would disprove the notion that Obama is unable to be allowed to serve as President, you would be wrong. In spite of reality, in spite of the overwhelming proof that Barack Obama is an American citizen and thus legally allowed to be President, these maniacs will deny it to their dying breath. They will refuse to accept reality and instead believe in something that is objectively and completely wrong.  because their political world view forces them to believe in this fantasy.

Oh, and Global Warming is bullshit, cause Al Gore is fat.
